11.29.07Tehranis with attitudeThe Iranian government is launching a new censorship campaign against the underground hip-hop community in the country, which has apparently become wildly popular on the internet. The genre, known as "Rap-e Fars" has its roots in the Iranian diaspora community in California, which has been turning out beats in Farsi since the 1990's. 11.27.07Iceland holds it downCheck out this new freshness from Icelandic design company Vik Prjónsdóttir: an all-wool "beardcap" that covers your head and has extra fabric to keep your beard toasty-- plus the moustache is sick-to-death. I e-mailed the company to get more info. Unfortunately, one of these bad-boys will set you back $125 (not including shipping from Iceland). The only place to pick one up outside of ReykjavÃk is a store called Scandinavian Grace in Brooklyn (offering them for $135). Check out the company's website for some other cool shit, though, including full-body "Sealpelt" blankets inspired by Icelandic mythology.
