Boston’s favorite hidden retailer, Bodega, will add one more shoe to its list of sell-out collaborations this August, when the store releases its redesign of the Adidas ZX 8000 running shoe. The Bodega team was selected to represent the letter B in Adidas’ AZX consortium, a massive design project in which 26 sneaker stores (one for each letter of the alphabet) were commissioned to remodel the classic ZX shoe. Letters A-H are slated for release on Aug. 8, including designs by ACU, Colette, D-Mop, LimitEDitions, Footpatrol, Goodfoot, and Huf. A new video from Adidas offers a behind-the-scenes look at the design process from the company’s headquarters in Germany. It also features interviews with several of the store owners involved in the project, including a good chunk of footage with the Bodega crew.
