Boldcrits Bike Racing – Boston from thathottness on Vimeo.
The temptation to use a pun about “getting in gear” is overwhelming right now, but I’ll keep it classy:
Boldcrits, a weekly dirt-track bike racing competition that will continue through the end of September, had it’s inaugural run yesterday night. About two dozen cyclists turned out to compete for the coveted grand prize, a six-pack of Octoberfest beer courtesy of Wachusett brewing company.
If you’ve been looking for a new way to prove your athletic prowess, the competition will heat up again next Monday at the William E. Smith playground in Allston, behind Harvard Stadium. Entry is completely free!
The Boldcrits video featured some fist-pumping punk from local band Pray For Polanski. You can check them out at the Great Scott on Monday, Sept. 22 if you want to hear more!
Looking for more sweet bike events? You can see what’s happening in the HUB in our “Bike Events” widget in the sidebar. Event info is updated every day by bostonbiker.org, which is the best resource available for local bike meetups and cycling news.
